Senior AI Software Engineer

Role overview

This senior AI software engineering role is based fully remotely in Colombia and focuses on building a scalable, secure, and trustworthy AI platform. The work combines hands-on development of LLM, retrieval, agentic, and AI-enabled systems with architectural leadership, governance, operational reliability, and cross-team influence.

Responsibilities

- Define architectural standards, contracts, and design principles for reusable AI platform capabilities. - Build and operate LLM applications, retrieval pipelines, multi-agent systems, execution runtimes, workflow orchestration, memory services, and human-in-the-loop features. - Establish evaluation, governance, auditability, safety, and traceability practices for AI systems. - Lead technical design discussions, architecture reviews, RFCs, proofs of concept, and evaluations of emerging models and cloud technologies. - Improve reliability through observability, monitoring, alerting, incident response, resilience, scalability, and cost control. - Partner with product, quality, security, subject-matter, and engineering teams while mentoring engineers and raising engineering maturity.

Requirements

- At least eight years of professional software engineering experience with impact beyond a single team. - At least two years building and operating production AI systems. - Experience designing distributed, cloud-native, multi-tenant SaaS platforms at scale. - Experience implementing AI guardrails, governance controls, and safety mechanisms. - Strong understanding of tradeoffs among latency, cost, accuracy, reliability, and scalability. - Extensive AWS production experience, infrastructure-as-code expertise with CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform, and strong English communication skills.

Nice to have

- Experience in regulated or compliance-heavy environments. - Familiarity with accounting, auditing, or financial workflows. - Experience with TypeScript, NestJS, Python, AWS EKS, Lambda, Bedrock, OpenSearch Serverless, Textract, DynamoDB, S3, LangChain, LangGraph, or AI evaluation and observability tools.
