Role overview
A 100% remote contractor engagement for a Data Engineer to design and operate scalable data solutions on Google Cloud Platform. The work supports an international Data Engineering and Analytics initiative centered on BigQuery, modern ETL/ELT practices, and enterprise data warehousing.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes - Profile source systems and implement data transformations aligned to analytical use cases - Build and maintain data warehouse and data mart solutions - Safeguard data quality through validations and unit testing - Tune BigQuery for query performance, cost efficiency, and reliability - Partner with Data Architecture, Analytics, and business stakeholders on delivery
Requirements
- Professional experience as a Data Engineer - Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery - Advanced SQL skills - Proven track record building ETL/ELT pipelines - Solid grasp of data warehousing concepts - Familiarity with data quality and testing practices - Excellent English communication skills
Nice to have
- Experience with AI or LLM technologies and APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar providers - Background in large-scale data environments or cloud data modernization initiatives
