Senior Software Engineer

Role overview Build and maintain software that supports large-scale customer communications and marketing workflows. This senior engineering role combines hands-on development with system design, modernization, operational ownership, and technical mentorship. The team works remotely and expects engineers to use AI-assisted tools thoughtfully while applying independent engineering judgment.

Responsibilities - Develop and own reliable software using object-oriented design, and contribute to architectural decisions and system modernization. - Evolve messaging and event-driven infrastructure, including Kafka or comparable message bus technologies. - Work with cloud services, container platforms, infrastructure as code, and deployment automation to operate scalable systems. - Design and support data solutions across SQL and NoSQL databases. - Participate in a rotating on-call schedule, improve monitoring, and address reliability issues. - Collaborate across disciplines, document technical decisions, review code, and mentor other engineers. - Use AI coding and review assistants in daily work, checking their output and identifying responsible ways to reduce repetitive effort.

Requirements - Around nine or more years of professional software development experience, including commercial object-oriented programming with Java and another language; C# is preferred. - Experience with Kafka or another messaging system and microservices. - Strong system design and scalable architecture skills, plus cloud experience; AWS is preferred. - Background in infrastructure and DevOps tools such as Docker, Terraform, and Kubernetes. - Working knowledge of both relational and non-relational databases. - Regular experience with AI development or review tools and the ability to evaluate their suggestions critically. - Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly, work independently and collaboratively in a remote team, and support colleagues’ growth.
