Senior SAP Transportation Management (TM) Consultant

Role overview A senior consulting position focused on designing, configuring, and optimizing SAP Transportation Management (TM) solutions for complex logistics and supply chain operations. The role leads client-facing workshops, produces high-quality functional designs, and mentors junior consultants through full implementation lifecycles. It suits a hands-on expert who thrives in mission-critical, fast-paced engagements.

Responsibilities - Lead requirement-gathering sessions with clients and stakeholders, translating business needs into detailed SAP TM functional specifications. - Configure and customize TM modules covering transportation planning, freight order management, carrier selection, tendering, zones, rate setup, and optimization rules. - Execute functional testing, defect resolution, and quality assurance to ensure reliable go-live deliverables. - Develop user manuals, configuration guides, and training materials, then deliver end-user and client enablement sessions. - Partner with architects, developers, project managers, and functional consultants to integrate TM with SAP ECC, S/4HANA, and related components. - Support hazmat/dangerous goods shipping processes within federal supply chain environments, including military shipping and Defense Transportation Regulation compliance. - Travel up to 50% for workshops, testing, deployment, and go-live support.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management, or related field, or equivalent experience. - 7–10 years of experience with at least two full SAP TM lifecycle implementations and leadership of at least one full lifecycle. - Hands-on configuration and customization of TM functionalities including planning, freight order management, carrier selection, and optimization. - Functional testing and QA experience, plus SAP TM or related SAP certification. - Strong grasp of transportation management concepts and logistics processes, with the ability to communicate complex topics to non-technical audiences.

Nice to have - SAP Activate or ASAP methodology experience.
