Role overview A Test Engineer II position on a Scrum team focused on documenting scenarios, automating test cases, and contributing to a SaaS test automation framework. The day-to-day mix includes reviewing automation runs, addressing failures, and designing new automated coverage for products and features. The role is remote and emphasises collaboration with engineers, product, and developers to maintain a steady, predictable flow of work each sprint.
Responsibilities - Design, create, and maintain UI and API test scripts as part of a broader automation framework. - Document new and existing test cases using test management tooling, sustaining above 80% automated test coverage. - Develop and maintain Cucumber (Gherkin) test scripts, including peer review of work from other team members. - Extend coverage by documenting and automating test cases derived from production defects. - Analyse runlists to identify long-running steps and tune or optimise them. - Integrate test automation with CI/CD pipelines and contribute to test data setup and maintenance.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience. - 3+ years of experience automating tests for a SaaS product. - Proficiency scripting tests in Cucumber (Gherkin) and working knowledge of tools such as Xray, HP Quality Center, TestRail, Eclipse IDE, GitLab, Selenium, Postman, or SoapUI. - Familiarity with ALM tools like Jira and Confluence for tracking and documentation. - Experience working on distributed teams of five or more engineers in a fully remote environment. - Strong grounding in Agile and CI/CD practices, with the ability to estimate work and deliver predictably against sprint goals.
Nice to have - Programming experience in Java, XML, HTML, CSS, or JavaScript. - Comfort investigating failing tests with limited information and performing root cause analysis.
Benefits and work setup - Fully remote position. - Pay range of $65,000–$95,000 USD per year, depending on experience and other factors, with eligibility for a quarterly bonus incentive plan. - Comprehensive benefits package available for full-time benefit-eligible employees.
