Role overview Join an engineering team building an agentic chatbot platform that delivers conversational AI capabilities within a complex benefits technology ecosystem. The role focuses on product delivery across the full stack of intake, orchestration, retrieval, and answer generation, with opportunities to influence design and mentor junior engineers.
Responsibilities - Design, build, test, and deploy production software spanning intake, orchestration, retrieval, answer generation, caching, and platform integrations for a chatbot platform - Deliver clean, efficient code aligned with sprint commitments, code standards, and engineering best practices - Participate actively in technical discussions, coding, and testing while providing influential peer feedback - Collaborate with product managers, tech leads, architects, and partner teams to align on design strategy, trade-offs, and delivery approach - Provide merge request feedback focused on correctness, security, performance, maintainability, and implementation risk - Mentor junior engineers and communicate effectively across teams to drive the right outcomes
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, CIS, Software Engineering, or a related field - 8+ years of experience in large-scale enterprise development - Extensive knowledge of Python, Java, SQL, XML, HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, backend service development, APIs, and frameworks such as FastAPI - Experience with OpenAI or other LLM APIs, prompt design, tool orchestration, response evaluation, retrieval, search, or reranking - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Familiarity with Linux, Eclipse IDE, Git, JIRA, Agile methodology, and XSL
Benefits and work setup - Remote work arrangement - Annual pay range of $103,600 to $162,000, determined by education, experience, skills, and market alignment - Eligibility to participate in the bonus incentive plan - Comprehensive benefits package available for full-time benefit-eligible employees
