Software Engineer II, UI/UX React (Remote)

Role overview A mid-level engineering position focused on building and shipping front-end features within a SaaS product. The role owns substantial technical workstreams, partners with product and engineering counterparts, and emphasizes code quality, maintainability, and operational reliability. The work is fully remote, and the engineer is expected to handle ambiguous requirements and make sound design trade-offs.

Responsibilities - Design, build, test, deploy, and support major features, services, or significant portions of team-owned software. - Write clean, efficient, well-tested code aligned with sprint commitments and team coding standards. - Make pragmatic design trade-offs balancing maintainability, performance, dependencies, delivery speed, and operational risk. - Lead root-cause analysis for complex defects and improve the systems touched. - Conduct constructive code reviews and contribute to design discussions, planning, and operational excellence reviews. - Mentor newer engineers and help onboard teammates to the team's codebase, architecture, and operational practices. - Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, debugging, testing, and documentation while critically validating generated output.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, CIS, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - 3+ years of professional software engineering experience. - Strong coding ability in at least one modern programming language, with comfort across the full delivery lifecycle. - Experience designing and building stable, maintainable, and performant software or services. - Hands-on experience with code reviews, design trade-offs, debugging, testing, and production support. - Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional partners.

Nice to have - Experience with APIs, integrations, cloud platforms, observability tooling, relational or NoSQL databases, or distributed systems. - Familiarity with React, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, jQuery, Bootstrap, or React Native for user interface development. - Experience with Java, SQL, XML, XSL, Oracle, Linux, Eclipse, Git, JIRA, and Agile methodology. - Exposure to AWS or AWS Lambda, mobile development with HTML5 or Swift, billing and payroll, data import/export, SSO, or large-scale EDI. - Background in benefits administration, HR technology, regulated SaaS, or other complex B2B systems. - Productive, responsible use of AI-assisted development tools, including validation of generated output.
