Remote Full Stack Developer (Frontend-Focused) - Canada

Role overview This Full Stack Developer position is frontend-focused, based in Canada, and works remotely with a US-based team lead and a cross-office culture spanning multiple countries. The role centers on building clean, performant interfaces and custom CMS implementations, primarily in WordPress with some Drupal work, turning design mockups into fast, accessible websites. It suits someone who loves frontend craft but stays comfortable in PHP and CMS internals to extend, troubleshoot, and integrate.

Responsibilities - Build custom WordPress themes, Gutenberg blocks (ACF or React-based), and plugins from provided designs. - Translate mockups into responsive, accessible frontend code using HTML, CSS/SASS, and modern JavaScript. - Work within Drupal for client sites that need it, including theming, content types, and module-level troubleshooting. - Diagnose and fix frontend and backend issues across a variety of CMS platforms. - Collaborate directly with designers, consultants, and occasionally clients to refine implementations. - Use AI tools such as Claude Code to plan and execute aspects of large projects.

Requirements - 5+ years of professional frontend development with strong HTML, CSS/SASS, and JavaScript fundamentals. - 3+ years building and customizing WordPress sites, including Gutenberg block development (ACF or React-based blocks). - Working knowledge of PHP 7.x/8.x to read, debug, and extend WordPress and Drupal codebases confidently. - Practical Drupal experience with theming, content architecture, or module-level work. - Familiarity with WordPress hooks and filters and general LAMP-stack conventions (MySQL, Git). - Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating in a remote, client-facing environment. - Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude Code.

Nice to have - Experience with React or Angular. - Laravel or Symfony background. - Docker and Linux environment familiarity. - AWS or other cloud platform exposure.
