Machine Learning Engineer (Data Scientist)

Role overview

This remote data science role supports machine learning products used in retail and personalized commerce. The engineer will validate data flows, investigate patterns, develop and operate models, and partner with engineering, data, and customer-facing teams to turn analysis into reliable product improvements. The role is intended for someone working from Brazil; people based in São Paulo may use an office when needed.

Responsibilities

- Use analytics, experimentation, forecasting, and machine learning to guide product and growth decisions. - Develop, deploy, and improve machine learning models and causal inference methods at scale. - Design experiments and analyses that measure product performance and identify improvements. - Build and maintain automated, scalable pipelines for reporting, visualization, analytics, and machine learning. - Help manage the machine learning platform, including dependable development and deployment workflows. - Validate incoming data and collaborate across technical and customer-facing teams to support delivery quality.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a related discipline. - More than three years of practical experience in data science, machine learning, and deep learning. - At least four years of strong Python and SQL experience. - Hands-on knowledge of A/B testing and causal inference. - Extensive experience with AWS cloud services. - Proficiency in MLOps, including model deployment and monitoring. - Experience using Docker for containers and Git for version control.
