Job details
About this role
Role overview Build AI-powered software that helps people turn large, fast-moving datasets into useful insights. You’ll work across product design and engineering, partnering with users and research, data, and engineering colleagues to shape ideas into production tools such as conversational interfaces and research agents.
Responsibilities - Design and deliver end-to-end features for products where people collaborate with AI agents. - Present AI-generated results, uncertainty, and citations in ways that help users assess and trust the output. - Talk with users and stakeholders to identify confusing, slow, or unreliable parts of existing workflows and improve them. - Translate complex, loosely defined research needs into clear product concepts, user experiences, and working software. - Use coding agents and other AI tools to speed up development while maintaining product quality. - Learn how users reason and make decisions, and reflect that expertise in the tools you build.
Requirements - 6+ years of experience in product engineering, full-stack engineering, or a design-and-engineering hybrid role, with shipped products to show. - Strong product and UX judgment, including the ability to critique a flow, propose alternatives, and explain tradeoffs clearly. - Hands-on experience building LLM-powered products, such as chat interfaces, agents, or retrieval-augmented tools. - Ability to use coding agents effectively without compromising quality. - Comfort working through ambiguous problems and collaborating across disciplines. - US work authorization.
Nice to have - Experience using human annotations to incorporate expert knowledge into AI systems. - Visual and interaction design skills; familiarity with Figma is useful. - Interest in political strategy and civic technology. Prior experience in the area is welcome but not required.
Benefits and work setup - Remote-first, with an office and regular team meetups in New York City; the team primarily works East Coast hours. - Annual salary range of $110,000–$210,000, depending on experience. - Medical, dental, and vision coverage; 401(k) match; 20 weeks of paid parental leave; family-building support; and unlimited paid time off.
