Full Stack and Backend NodeJS TypeScript/JavaScript Engineer (Senior) - Remote, Latin America

Role overview This is a senior, remote full stack and backend opportunity focused on building high-quality, low-latency web applications for consulting clients across Latin America. The role blends backend depth in Node.js with the ability to contribute to frontend work, sitting inside a fast-paced consultancy that prizes ownership, craftsmanship, and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

- Design, build, and maintain low-latency, scalable RESTful API services on AWS. - Develop backend systems using Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript, including raw SQL, schema migrations, and PostgreSQL/AuroraDB with Row-Level Security. - Implement secure multi-tenant data models and integrate external SDKs into core services. - Contribute to React-based frontend code as project needs dictate. - Author and maintain CI/CD pipelines, integration tests against real databases, and failure-mode / fault-injection test suites. - Use AI coding assistants as part of daily development workflows and uphold strong testing and code-quality standards.

Requirements

- 5+ years of professional, backend-focused software development experience. - Strong production experience with Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, and React. - Hands-on experience building low-latency APIs on AWS, with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB and Row-Level Security. - Comfort writing raw SQL, managing schema migrations, and working with secure multi-tenant environments. - Solid CI/CD skills and experience with AI coding assistants in daily work. - Bachelor's degree, ability to overlap US business hours, and a track record of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail on complex systems.

Nice to have

- Experience with append-only, event-sourced, or bitemporal data models. - Familiarity with Fastify and schema-first validation such as Zod. - Background running containerized services on AWS Fargate/ECS. - Exposure to compliance-sensitive or audit-heavy domains like fintech or telecom/TCPA compliance.
