Rust-Simplicity Maintainer

Role overview Serve as the primary steward of a suite of Rust libraries that implement a blockchain programming language and its wallet integrations. The maintainer will shape architecture, ship features, and keep several tightly related crates healthy, performant, and in step with the broader open-source ecosystem.

Responsibilities - Maintain and evolve the core Rust implementation of the Simplicity language, expanding coverage to new use cases and strengthening CI and QA processes. - Steward multiple interconnected crates covering creation, analysis, and wallet integration of the language. - Provide maintainer-level code review on each repository so that no change merges without an independent sign-off. - Maintain and improve CI pipelines to deliver fast, automated feedback on contributions. - Collaborate with adjacent teams to integrate the language into Bitcoin-related projects such as Elements and Liquid. - Triage pull requests and GitHub issues, mentor outside contributors, and keep developer-friendly documentation current.

Requirements - Strong proficiency in Rust, with roughly two or more years of professional experience preferred. - Familiarity with Bitcoin, blockchain protocols, or cryptographic systems. - Clear written communication and the ability to work effectively across a globally distributed team.

Nice to have - A track record of maintaining or leading open-source projects. - Background in formal methods, theorem provers, or functional languages such as Haskell. - Hands-on knowledge of blockchain virtual machines, scripting systems, or transaction policy tools like Miniscript. - Prior contributions to Bitcoin Core, Elements, or related protocol implementations.
