Staff iOS Software Engineer, Bitcoin

Role overview

A senior iOS engineering role focused on shaping a critical part of a consumer-facing mobile experience for digital assets, including bitcoin, stablecoins, and self-custody wallets. The position combines hands-on coding with technical leadership, working closely with product, design, and platform partners to ship complex financial products at scale. Responsibilities

- Own end-to-end delivery of major iOS features, from client architecture through service integration, testing, rollout, and post-launch iteration - Design and prototype new customer journeys, then translate open questions into concrete delivery plans alongside product and design partners - Influence technical direction across the iOS product area, making tradeoff decisions and sequencing dependencies with adjacent teams - Strengthen shared components, architecture, automated testing, observability, and safe rollout practices across the app - Integrate and evaluate AI-assisted development tools, verifying that outputs meet quality, security, and reliability standards - Lead architecture and design reviews across team boundaries, mentor engineers, and help set technical standards that lift team velocity

Requirements

- 12+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 4+ years building native iOS products - Deep experience shipping and maintaining production iOS applications using Swift and Apple frameworks - Track record of creating foundational systems, shared frameworks, or tooling that are used widely across a team - History of leading strategic initiatives with broad adoption and durable technical impact - Strong systems thinking, technical communication, mentoring ability, and organizational influence

Nice to have

- Experience with large, modular iOS applications, including working in existing UIKit or Objective-C codebases - Familiarity with build systems, continuous integration and delivery, testing infrastructure, observability, or mobile performance - Background supporting customer-facing products in financial services, commerce, or another high-trust environment - Exposure to experimentation infrastructure, feature flagging, or large-scale product delivery - Hands-on experience with bitcoin, stablecoin, or non-custodial wallet technologies - Track record of identifying and leading work that was not already on a team's roadmap
