Software Engineer, Privacy Engineering

Role overview Join a dedicated privacy engineering group whose mission is to enable responsible data use across a large engineering ecosystem. The team builds internal products and infrastructure that help engineers collect, store, and analyze data responsibly while supporting consumer privacy rights. This is a fully remote position reporting into the data foundations engineering manager.

Responsibilities - Design and develop services and infrastructure that support data privacy initiatives and consumer privacy rights across the engineering ecosystem. - Help define the long-term technological direction of privacy within the organization. - Collaborate with product engineering, privacy counsel, and security and platform engineering teams to integrate privacy solutions into broader products. - Provide mentorship and code or design reviews for teams working with privacy technologies. - Contribute to monitoring, stability, and ongoing improvement of existing privacy engineering solutions. - Promote privacy-enhancing technologies and act as an enabler rather than a gatekeeper for responsible data use.

Requirements - Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience. - Demonstrated ability to write quality, scalable, robust, and testable code. - Genuine interest in learning new technologies and languages. - Experience working creatively across services, infrastructure, or frameworks to achieve security and privacy goals.

Nice to have - Experience designing novel yet robust security or privacy architectures. - Background developing or maintaining services that meet data governance needs. - Experience designing new ways to surface and understand data flow, access control, and risk. - Ability to explain complex technical security or privacy concepts to varied audiences.
