About this role

Role overview A senior platform engineering role responsible for building and operating the data platform foundation that powers analytics, business intelligence, governance, and agentic workflows across a global fintech. The position combines deep software engineering with hands-on data infrastructure work, shaping how petabyte-scale data is produced, governed, and consumed.

Responsibilities - Design, build, and operate core data platform capabilities spanning warehousing, orchestration, BI tooling, and data governance. - Develop reliable Python services and developer-facing tooling that improve how teams create and run data products. - Build and maintain scalable infrastructure using Terraform and GitOps practices. - Define patterns that allow teams to manage petabyte-scale data with strong controls around governance, security, reliability, and usability. - Partner with data engineers, analysts, scientists, and product teams to translate their needs into durable platform capabilities. - Evaluate and build agentic workflows that make data work more effective while maintaining appropriate controls and observability. - Set technical direction, raise engineering standards, and mentor other engineers across teams.

Requirements - Senior-level software engineering experience with strong Python skills and a track record of designing, shipping, and operating production systems. - Hands-on experience building or operating data platforms, data products, or large-scale data infrastructure. - Familiarity with modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or comparable systems. - Practical Terraform and infrastructure-as-code experience. - Working understanding of the tradeoffs involved in managing petabyte-scale data, including performance, cost, reliability, access controls, lineage, quality, and governance. - Strong collaboration skills, with empathy for the workflows of data practitioners. - Clear technical judgment and the ability to lead across teams.

Benefits and work setup Distributed-first environment with remote options across multiple countries. Annual base pay ranges from $153,000 to $270,000 USD depending on US labor market zone.
