Job details
About this role
Role overview Own the frontend of a consumer platform that serves multiple brands from a shared React, Next.js, and TypeScript codebase. You’ll shape its architecture and design system, turn early product concepts into production features, and remain accountable for quality and behavior after release. The role is an individual contributor position with broad ownership and frequent use of AI coding agents.
Responsibilities - Set frontend architecture, conventions, and quality standards, and make decisions from a brief rather than a fully specified backlog. - Design the platform so new brands can be introduced through configuration, including their themes, routes, and content. - Build and maintain shared components and design system foundations for product development and AI-assisted prototyping. - Convert working prototypes into production features and improve the tools and process for doing so reliably. - Use coding agents in day-to-day development, with checks that protect quality, accessibility, and performance. - Work directly with product stakeholders to surface UX issues and propose solutions with concrete examples.
Requirements - 8+ years building production consumer web applications, including substantial ownership at Staff level or equivalent. - Proven experience taking a frontend from an early brief through launch and owning its ongoing production behavior. - Deep knowledge of React, Next.js, and modern TypeScript, including the tradeoffs of different rendering approaches. - Hands-on experience building or redesigning a multi-brand, multi-tenant, or white-label frontend. - Experience owning a design system and making decisions about consistency, flexibility, and adoption. - Practical use of AI coding agents, with the ability to assess their output and catch plausible but incorrect results. - Strong UI judgment, demonstrated Core Web Vitals improvements, and clear written and spoken English.
Nice to have - Experience with real-time, high-interaction interfaces or high-traffic consumer products, including fintech, crypto, gaming, or entertainment. - Tools or integrations that improve AI agents’ work within a codebase or design system; working knowledge of CI/CD and cloud environments.
