About this role
Role overview
Design and guide security architecture for software, infrastructure, and satellite ground deployments across cloud and on-premises environments. This hands-on leadership role connects security and engineering teams, translating compliance obligations into practical controls, roadmaps, and implementation plans.
Responsibilities
- Align security and technology stakeholders by breaking compliance goals into engineering requirements and solutions. - Create secure architecture plans for software, networks, and infrastructure in cloud and on-premises deployments. - Build security roadmaps and frameworks with security and engineering teams, and assess vulnerabilities through reviews. - Work with DevOps teams to embed automated controls in infrastructure-as-code templates, including Terraform and Helm. - Define engineering security standards and access guidance, and communicate requirements to internal and external stakeholders. - Coordinate control implementation across security, software, infrastructure, systems, product, and program teams; track risks, schedules, documentation, and decisions.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of related experience, including five or more years leading DevSecOps or infrastructure security architecture projects. - Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline. - Experience designing complex systems and deployments for cybersecurity compliance, and developing security architecture roadmaps. - Strong knowledge of standards and frameworks such as NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53, NIST 800-207, FIPS 140-2, FedRAMP, and ISO/IEC 27001:2022. - Experience with Kubernetes, on-premises deployments, and software development practices across the full lifecycle. - Ability to document architectures, interfaces, and requirements and to explain technical tradeoffs to varied stakeholders.
Nice to have
A master’s degree in engineering, experience with air-gapped deployments, and software architecture work in production systems, particularly in space or defense contexts.
