About this role
Role overview A senior UX Designer is needed to own the end-to-end experience of a consumer AI-native application available on iOS, Android, and web. The product is being built to bring proactive intelligence to everyday tools, replacing the need for complex prompting with reliable, context-aware task completion. The role focuses on Human-Computer Interaction for AI systems, designing flows that feel transparent, controllable, and trustworthy even when the underlying behavior is asynchronous and non-deterministic.
Responsibilities - Lead UX for the core surfaces of a multi-platform AI assistant app, owning flows from intent capture through to task completion, handoff, progress tracking, and error recovery. - Design how the product communicates what the AI is doing, what decisions it has made, and what the user must confirm or adjust along the way. - Map and design the full range of AI states a user encounters, including loading, thinking, acting, waiting, completing, stalling, failing, and recovering. - Partner with product, engineering, and machine learning teams to translate user requirements into concrete, buildable design solutions. - Run usability research to identify where users lose trust, feel uncertain, or disengage, and turn findings into design decisions. - Produce wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity designs in Figma, and contribute to the shared design system and UX patterns for AI-driven surfaces.
Requirements - Track record as a UX designer on consumer mobile or web products, with a strong portfolio. - Strong skills in user flow design, wireframing, and high-fidelity prototyping in Figma. - Ability to design for systems that are asynchronous, non-deterministic, and context-dependent. - Clear thinking about user trust, control, feedback, and transparency in AI-driven experiences. - Experience conducting user research and translating findings into design decisions. - Comfort working in fast-moving teams with evolving product scope, and sound judgment on edge cases, failure handling, and recovery flows.
Nice to have - Experience designing for both lightweight everyday interactions and complex multi-step AI workflows within the same product. - Prior work building or contributing to a design system for AI app surfaces.
Benefits and work setup - Small, hands-on team culture that values high talent density, collective decision-making, and rapid shipping of high-quality work. - Interview process includes a portfolio submission, two interview rounds, and a design assessment, conducted via virtual meetings or onsite.
