UX Designer

Role overview Own the user experience of the core application for an AI-native productivity product, shaping how people start tasks, follow along as the AI works, stay in control, and recover from mistakes. The role spans iOS, Android, and web and is aimed at designing flows that feel clear, reliable, and controllable for everyday consumers. You will partner deeply with product, engineering, and ML to translate AI behavior into trustworthy product surfaces.

Responsibilities - Own UX for the core app experience across iOS, Android, and web - Design end-to-end user flows for AI-assisted tasks from intent capture through task completion, including handoff, progress tracking, and error recovery - Surface what the AI is doing, what decisions it has made, and what the user must confirm or adjust - Map and design the full range of AI states users encounter, including loading, thinking, acting, waiting, completing, stalling, failing, and recovering - Collaborate with product, engineering, and ML to define user requirements and translate them into shipped design solutions - Run usability research to identify where users lose trust, feel uncertain, or disengage - Produce wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity designs that engineering can build from directly - Contribute to the design system and shared UX patterns for AI app surfaces - Design for both simple everyday interactions and complex multi-step AI workflows within the same product

Requirements - UX design experience on consumer mobile or web apps with a strong portfolio - Solid user flow design, wireframing, and high-fidelity prototyping skills in Figma - Ability to design for systems that are asynchronous, non-deterministic, and context-dependent - Clear thinking about user trust, control, feedback, and transparency in AI-driven experiences - Experience conducting user research and turning findings into design decisions - Comfort working in fast-moving teams with evolving product scope - Ability to balance simple consumer UX with complex AI system behavior - Good judgment on usability, edge cases, failure handling, and recovery flows

Nice to have - Background designing for AI assistants, agents, or other non-deterministic product surfaces - Contributions to shared design systems or pattern libraries
