Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Role overview An AI-focused engineering team is seeking a Senior Member of Technical Staff, Machine Learning, to independently own critical ML subsystems in production. This hands-on, high-impact role emphasizes depth—taking ambiguous problems, designing practical solutions, and shipping systems that operate reliably at scale.

Responsibilities - Build core ML systems that power a proactive, long-horizon AI product - Own work end-to-end from data preparation through training, evaluation, inference, and iteration - Translate research ideas into working systems that run reliably in production - Debug model failures and system issues using real production signals - Iterate quickly by shipping, measuring outcomes, refining, and repeating - Mentor and review work from other ML engineers through example and technical judgment - Operate under real production constraints including latency, cost, reliability, and safety

Requirements - Track record of building and shipping ML systems used by real users - Deep understanding of how modern ML models behave, and misbehave, in production - Strong production-quality coding skills and systems-level thinking rather than script-level work - Proficiency with Python and either PyTorch or JAX - Proven ability to take ownership, work independently, and push work across the finish line - Demonstrated capacity to learn fast, communicate clearly, and improve through iteration
