Chief Technology Officer

Role overview

Own technology strategy, architecture, and engineering standards across a group of products and businesses. This is a technical leadership position for someone who can guide teams and make decisions across multiple systems while staying close to architecture, code, and delivery.

Responsibilities

- Make major architecture and technology decisions across products and platforms. - Directly review critical systems, infrastructure, architecture, and code. - Set engineering standards for reliability, security, performance, testing, and code quality. - Identify technical debt and architectural constraints, then lead efforts to address them. - Improve engineering productivity, delivery speed, and production reliability. - Decide which technologies and infrastructure should be shared across businesses, and recruit senior engineers and technical leaders.

Requirements

- Deep software engineering experience building and scaling production systems. - Strong knowledge of backend systems, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, and distributed systems. - Experience making architecture decisions across multiple products or engineering teams. - Sound technical judgment and the ability to challenge implementation decisions constructively. - Ability to build strong engineering teams while remaining technically hands-on, including reviewing code, architecture, incidents, and difficult engineering problems.
