Founding Frontend Engineer

Role overview Build and improve the product interfaces used to discover computational labs, run simulations, review results, and manage work. This founding frontend role spans browser and desktop experiences, combining hands-on product engineering with reusable frontend foundations.

Responsibilities - Develop product surfaces across web, desktop, lab browsing, simulation review, and workspace flows. - Improve navigation, dashboards, account pages, and the handling of empty and loading states. - Create frontend patterns for state management, routing, and shared components across surfaces. - Keep interfaces reliable, accessible, and easy to extend as the product grows. - Test and refine interaction details in dense, professional workflows.

Requirements - Strong production experience with TypeScript, React, CSS, and component-based frontend architecture. - Ability to design interfaces for workflows where usability, speed, and correctness matter. - Ability to work independently and ship readable, tested, accessible code. - Care for maintainable systems that can be extended over time.

Nice to have Experience with Next.js App Router, Tauri, Playwright, Vitest, graph or canvas interfaces, or design systems. Background building developer tools, data products, scientific software, or other complex professional applications is helpful. The role is remote and full-time.
