Role overview A fully remote mid-level engineering role focused on building and maintaining the technology behind a telehealth platform serving patients receiving care for opioid use disorder. The engineer will work across web and mobile applications, contributing to a mission-driven codebase where technical decisions directly affect patient outcomes and access to evidence-based treatment.
Responsibilities - Implement, test, and maintain product features using TypeScript, React, GraphQL, and Node.js across web and mobile surfaces. - Build and ship functionality spanning mobile applications, TypeScript backend services, and cloud-based data layers with attention to end-to-end performance. - Partner with product managers, clinicians, and other staff to shape solutions that improve the patient experience. - Operate with a Lean Startup mindset, looking for opportunities to simplify technology and processes. - Participate in code reviews and shared learning sessions, contributing to a collaborative, low-ego team culture. - Deliver work reliably and transparently while upholding high standards for code quality, performance, and maintainability.
Requirements - 3-5 years of professional experience building and maintaining web, mobile-responsive, or backend applications. - Proficiency with React and Node.js, with strong TypeScript experience preferred. - Hands-on experience with GraphQL or Express and designing or consuming RESTful APIs. - Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform or a comparable cloud environment. - Understanding of iterative agile delivery, CI/CD pipelines, and writing testable, maintainable code. - Proactive troubleshooting skills and willingness to take ownership of discrete features or modules. - Consistent access to a private, distraction-free remote work environment with high-speed internet suitable for frequent video conferencing.
