About this role
Role overview Shape enterprise AI solutions from early technical discovery through delivery, translating business problems into architectures that can meet production requirements. The work includes retrieval and agent systems, deployment models for sensitive environments, and integration with existing enterprise data, identity, and applications.
Responsibilities - Design retrieval, knowledge, and agent architectures that address accuracy, security, and audit requirements. - Lead technical discovery with prospective clients and develop architecture proposals grounded in their needs. - Plan sovereign cloud and on premises deployments for data residency, security, and compliance constraints. - Map integrations with enterprise data sources, identity systems, and existing applications, surfacing technical constraints early. - Work with engineering teams through delivery to ensure the implementation reflects the agreed design. - Advise on open weight models, fine tuning, and retrieval approaches based on client data, budget, and risk.
Requirements - Experience architecting and delivering production software or AI systems, with the ability to explain design decisions. - Practical understanding of retrieval augmented generation, embeddings, open weight models, and fine tuning tradeoffs. - Strong cloud and infrastructure knowledge across AWS, GCP, or Azure, including on premises or sovereign deployment design. - Ability to lead technical presales and build confidence with technical and executive stakeholders. - Experience with US regulated enterprises and their security, compliance, and audit requirements. - Clear communication across business and engineering audiences.
Nice to have - Hands on work building retrieval pipelines, agents, or fine tuned models with Hugging Face and Python. - Familiarity with SOC 2, HIPAA, or FedRAMP implications for architecture. - Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code experience.
Benefits and work setup - Hybrid work from Austin or fully remote within the United States. - A learning and career path toward principal architecture or practice leadership.
