Senior Backend Engineer (Go/Python)
Job details
About this role
Role overview Build and operate senior-level backend services for high-throughput, AI-intensive workloads. The role centers on distributed systems and dependable APIs, with responsibility spanning data performance, resilience, cloud deployment, production observability, and technical guidance for peers.
Responsibilities - Design and deliver distributed backend services in Go and Python for concurrent workloads. - Create versioned APIs with clear contracts and observability for dependent teams and client systems. - Model and tune PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis for throughput, consistency, and predictable latency. - Build resilience through retries, backpressure, idempotency, and graceful degradation. - Profile services, remove performance bottlenecks, and support demanding inference and data pipeline latency needs. - Package and deploy services with Docker and Kubernetes on a major cloud; instrument systems for auditability, review code, shape architecture, and mentor colleagues.
Requirements - Senior experience delivering and operating production backend systems at scale, with strong Go and Python skills. - Deep knowledge of distributed systems, including concurrency, queues, caching, and consistency tradeoffs. - Strong API design skills and experience operating services other teams depend on. - Database expertise with PostgreSQL and at least one of MongoDB or Redis, including performance tuning. - Hands-on Docker, Kubernetes, and at least one of AWS, GCP, or Azure. - Reliability-focused engineering judgment, strong written communication, and the autonomy to own systems remotely.
Nice to have - Production experience serving AI or machine learning workloads, including inference APIs or RAG systems. - Rust for performance-sensitive components, event-driven or streaming architecture experience, or work in regulated and audit-heavy environments.
Benefits and work setup - Fully remote work, with a learning budget and a stated path toward technical leadership.
