Job details
About this role
Role overview Lead complex software work that uses AI coding agents to build and ship customer-facing features. This senior role shapes technical direction across workstreams, owns delivery through production monitoring, and helps other engineers improve how they specify, delegate, review, and operate agent-assisted work.
Responsibilities - Turn ambiguous product opportunities into technical direction and specifications with clear constraints, acceptance criteria, risks, and tradeoffs. - Guide multiple agents through concurrent implementation while deciding where human judgment is required. - Set verification standards based on risk, using tests, observability, and production readiness checks to assess and integrate results. - Own features from specification through release and monitoring, including correctness, security, maintainability, and customer impact. - Improve team workflows by developing useful agent instructions, repository conventions, test harnesses, and playbooks. - Shape product decisions with product, design, and support partners, and mentor engineers in agent-assisted development.
Requirements - At least five years of software engineering experience, including shipping customer-facing production software and owning it through monitoring. - A track record of using AI coding agents to deliver features across parallel workstreams. - Strong system design, data modeling, and architecture skills, including performance and data-flow tradeoffs. - Ability to write clear specifications and technical documentation for both people and agents. - Experience structuring repository and task context so agents can work reliably, and designing workflows for parallel execution. - Experience with production observability, metrics, traces, incident response, mentoring, and influencing technical decisions; strong written and verbal communication.
