Software Engineer, Back End (LATAM)

Role overview A remote backend engineering role focused on building distributed financial infrastructure that moves real money across global markets. You will join a roughly 16-person engineering team spanning backend, frontend, and infrastructure, collaborating directly with operations, compliance, and legal to deliver systems where correctness carries both financial and regulatory weight. The position emphasizes real autonomy and accountability on a cloud-native, microservices platform.

Responsibilities - Design and build distributed systems and REST/gRPC APIs in Go, making architectural decisions that affect how money moves - Enable real-time deposits so end users can invest the moment they transfer funds - Build multi-currency settlement and international clearing flows for European expansion - Design infrastructure for stablecoin-based account funding in Latin American markets - Scale microservices architecture across custody, trading, and portfolio management as partner volume grows - Work with Kubernetes on EKS, Istio, Temporal for fault-tolerant workflows, PostgreSQL, and AWS Kinesis

Requirements - 4+ years of professional software development experience - Computer Science degree or equivalent practical experience - Strong fundamentals in data structures and algorithms - Demonstrated success delivering high-quality production services and systems - Track record of building reliable services at scale - Comfort working autonomously with minimal direction in a fast-moving environment

Nice to have - Prior experience in the financial industry - Hands-on experience building fault-tolerant workflows with Temporal - Experience designing secure and compliant systems - Familiarity with Go, Python, or C++ on a stack that includes Kubernetes (EKS), AWS, Istio, Jaeger, PostgreSQL, AWS Kinesis, and gRPC
