Role overview

This remote position calls for a hands-on Industrial Designer to build out an internal product design practice focused on consumer electronics and collectibles. The work spans concept through production, partnering with creative and cross-functional teams to translate brand and fan culture into tangible, manufacturable products.

Responsibilities

- Generate multiple concept directions and refine strong solutions through sketches, renderings, and 3D prototype models within agreed timelines. - Develop manufacturable, durable products by identifying and resolving design, engineering, material, and assembly challenges before production handoff. - Mature the existing product design language and explore R&D in new materials, 3D rendering, and on-site production methods. - Communicate design strategy and creative process to internal stakeholders, including design and executive teams, through critiques and presentations. - Coordinate with cross-functional partners and vendors to meet project milestones and deliver high-quality design solutions on schedule.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Toy Design, or a related field. - 5–7 years of product design experience, with 1–3 years in consumer product development, ideally in entertainment, licensing, creative agency, or pop culture. - Strong sketching, concept generation, and visualization skills across hand, 2D, and 3D digital rendering. - Working knowledge of 2D, 3D, and rendering tools such as Rhino 3D, AutoCAD, Sketchbook, Keyshot, Photoshop, Illustrator, SolidWorks, Cinema 4D, and Blender. - Understanding of manufacturing materials and processes, including plastic injection molding, metal die casting, and stamping, with hands-on prototyping skills. - Solid grasp of pop culture trends, fandoms, and the consumer electronics landscape.

Nice to have

- Familiarity with color, materials, and finishes specification. - Maya experience is a plus but not required.
