About this role
Role overview A nearshore technology services partner is hiring a Technical UI Designer to bridge UX/UI design and technical implementation for real-time interactive experiences. The role translates wireframes and visual designs into functional, scalable, and maintainable interfaces while collaborating closely with designers, artists, and engineers. It focuses on production-ready UI built inside a real-time engine and on systems that can evolve with the product.
Responsibilities - Translate UX wireframes and visual designs into functional UI within Unreal Engine - Break UI features into clear implementation tasks, identifying technical dependencies and risks - Build and maintain interfaces using UMG, Widget Blueprints, and Blueprint scripting - Create reusable, modular UI components supporting multiple screens, states, and evolving requirements - Implement data-driven interfaces and maintain clean separation between application data and presentation - Support multiple resolutions, aspect ratios, safe areas, input methods, and platform requirements - Profile, debug, and optimize UI performance including widget complexity and memory usage - Account for localization and accessibility during implementation - Contribute to UI workflows, documentation, and tools that improve team efficiency
Requirements - Professional experience with Unreal Engine on real-time interactive products - Hands-on experience with UMG, Widget Blueprints, and Blueprint scripting - Experience implementing reusable UI components and systems - Strong understanding of UI states, interaction patterns, navigation, and data-driven interfaces - Ability to translate design specifications and wireframes into production-ready UI - Experience debugging and optimizing real-time UI - Strong collaboration skills across design, art, and engineering disciplines - Ability to communicate technical constraints while preserving design intent - Professional English with the ability to run requirement and design conversations with North American stakeholders
Nice to have - Experience with MVVM, ViewModels, view bindings, or comparable UI architecture patterns - Working knowledge of C++ and/or Slate within Unreal Engine - Experience with controller or gamepad navigation and multi-platform UI - Experience with UI materials, shaders, animation, or motion - Experience with Figma or comparable design and prototyping tools - Experience shipping a game or other large-scale real-time interactive product
