About this role
Role overview
Own architectural design for resilient multi-region cloud infrastructures, Kubernetes control planes, automated continuous delivery systems, and zero-trust security postures serving high-scale enterprise environments. The position centers on mission-critical cloud topologies across AWS, GCP, and bare-metal clusters where downtime is unacceptable.
Responsibilities
- Design and govern scalable, zero-downtime cloud infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and bare-metal clusters with multi-region failover. - Build Kubernetes custom operators, GitOps continuous delivery pipelines (ArgoCD), and modular Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or OpenTofu. - Implement observability meshes, distributed tracing (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana), and automated chaos engineering routines. - Establish zero-trust security perimeters, mTLS service mesh topologies (Cilium or Istio), and compliance automation frameworks. - Guide enterprise engineering teams through cloud cost optimization and disaster-recovery simulations.
Requirements
- 6+ years designing, scaling, and maintaining multi-cloud production platforms. - Deep mastery of Kubernetes internals, container networking (CNI, Cilium), and service meshes. - Extensive experience with Terraform, Terragrunt, and CI/CD pipelines at scale. - Demonstrated expertise in site reliability engineering, disaster recovery, and multi-region replication. - Strong communication skills to align executive stakeholders and technical leads.
Nice to have
- Experience with bare-metal Kubernetes deployments and hybrid cloud setups. - Knowledge of SOC2 Type II, HIPAA, or ISO 27001 regulatory compliance.
Benefits and work setup
- Remote, full-time, globally distributed. - Compensation of $200,000 – $260,000 plus profit share. - Asynchronous working rituals with an engineering pod structure.
