Lead Go Software Engineer

Role overview Lead hands-on backend engineering within a product squad, building secure cloud applications and helping solve complex software challenges. The role combines delivery of production systems with technical influence across APIs, services, cloud infrastructure, and data stores. It is fully remote and begins with a 180-day contract period before potential full-time conversion.

Responsibilities - Build and scale cloud applications using Go and other modern backend technologies. - Develop and maintain services and REST APIs within a microservices-oriented environment. - Design for reliability, availability, and security, including internet-facing systems that handle valuable data. - Participate in the squad’s on-call rotation and help maintain production systems. - Use modern development tools, including generative AI, to accelerate implementation, reduce repetitive work, and prototype ideas.

Requirements - At least six years of professional software development experience with Go, C#, or Java in a fast-paced environment. - At least four years building and scaling a revenue-generating product. - At least two years operating production applications in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, with an understanding of cloud scale and application security. - Experience with containers and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes. - Experience with relational and document databases, such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MongoDB. - Practical experience using generative AI tools or agents to support software delivery and prototyping.
