About this role

Role overview

Drive organization-wide adoption of artificial intelligence across every department by running a centralized enablement function. This is an influence-led role: pair a small dedicated core with a cross-functional champions network, ship measurable wins through short sprints, and lift adoption layer by layer so that AI fluency and demonstrable business value reach every team.

Responsibilities

- Own end-to-end AI adoption across all departments, covering awareness, training, activation, and the business value delivered in each function. - Operate the AI Center of Excellence cadence, including champions network, office hours, intake, prioritization, and an adoption scoreboard. - Recruit, coach, and protect time for at least one champion per department, and grow the bench behind each one. - Run cross-functional AI pods that pair a builder with a subject matter expert in ten-day sprints, shipping before-and-after outcome data each cycle. - Build a layered training program: a fluency foundation for everyone, with deeper tracks for dedicated roles and champions. - Maintain a shared skills library with Engineering and run its distribution so every channel receives the same artifacts. - Instrument adoption and outcomes (workflows converted, hours returned, dollar impact) and report monthly to the executive team. - Manage the AI tooling portfolio and budget, evaluating vendors and retiring tools that do not earn their keep. - Publish wins with numbers in shared channels so each showcased result recruits the next builder.

Requirements

- Five or more years in engineering, operations, or enablement roles, including two or more years leading adoption of a platform or practice across an organization. - At least one year within the past two years directly building, leading, or influencing AI at the company level. - Hands-on builder who scripts, calls APIs, and wires automations, with AI workflows shipped that others now depend on. - Proven training and facilitation skill across technical and non-technical audiences, with evidence of the adoption curve that followed. - High-empathy operator who thrives dropping into any department, learning its workflow, and earning trust quickly. - Demonstrated measured outcomes: before-and-after numbers produced, not just activities run.

Nice to have

- Forward-deployed engineering experience at an AI lab, consultancy, or product company. - Background in procurement, supply chain, or B2B SaaS. - Familiarity with AI governance frameworks such as ISO 42001, the NIST AI RMF, and SOC 2. - Prior experience standing up a center of excellence or a champions program.

Benefits and work setup

- Salary range of $150,000 to $185,000 USD, plus startup equity. - Medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums covered up to 100% for the employee. - 401(k) with discretionary employer matching. - Unlimited paid time off. - Remote-first team with regular in-person gatherings for team building, design sprints, and customer visits. - Annual learning and professional development budget of $1,000.
