Role overview
This full-time backend engineering role is designed for mid-level and senior developers with professional Rust experience. You will contribute to software projects for teams of different sizes, working across the full development cycle while balancing performance, security, reliability, observability, and maintainability.
Responsibilities
- Build backend systems and production services in Rust, from technical design through delivery. - Use Rust idioms, established guidelines, and widely used libraries such as Serde appropriately. - Work on latency-sensitive systems, algorithms, multithreaded code, and scalable distributed architectures. - Collaborate with teammates to develop designs, resolve technical questions, and finalize robust solutions. - Translate business requirements into engineering decisions and communicate the trade-offs involved. - Write clear documentation and tests that support reliable, maintainable software.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of professional Rust experience. - Strong knowledge of Rust idioms, guidelines, and relevant ecosystem libraries. - Experience delivering high-quality code with attention to security, reliability, performance, and observability. - Ability to work effectively with distributed systems, concurrency, algorithms, or latency-sensitive workloads. - Strong collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to work U.S. time zones. - For senior-level work, expertise in foreign-function interface development is essential.
Nice to have
- Prior experience with C or C++. - Experience taking systems from initial concept into production operation.
