Senior Backend Software Engineer

Role overview This role sits on the backend engineering team of a vertical SaaS platform serving dental practices, working on a Java Spring Boot stack that powers practice management software. The position combines hands-on coding with end-to-end release ownership and cross-functional collaboration to deliver stable, scalable systems that dental providers rely on daily.

Responsibilities - Take full accountability for end-to-end delivery of major product updates, managing the release lifecycle to keep production stable and performant - Use AI tools to accelerate boilerplate and execution while retaining ownership of logic, security, and code quality - Collaborate with product teams to integrate and improve AI capabilities within the platform - Partner with the Frontend team to ensure seamless integration between the Java Spring Boot backend and React/TypeScript frontend - Participate in code reviews, sharing and receiving constructive feedback - Identify and implement team efficiency improvements - Estimate and plan development efforts for timely, high-quality delivery

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience - 6+ years of backend engineering experience with a strong emphasis on clean, quality code - English written and verbal communication at B2 level or higher - Experience with Java Spring Boot or similar frameworks - Hands-on experience with Snowflake or enterprise cloud data warehouses for large-scale datasets - Experience owning successful releases of high-traffic features or major platform migrations - Deep focus on testing, stability, and performance - Customer-centric mindset and strong collaboration skills
