Role overview

Entry-level data science position focused on turning high-volume, high-velocity, unstructured, and semi-structured data into useful analysis, visualizations, metrics, and operational tools. The role supports the lifecycle of data science and AI/ML capabilities across cloud and on-premises environments, from data transport and transformation through model delivery, analytics, and transition into operational use.

Responsibilities

- Help operate, onboard, and transition large-scale data science and machine-learning models in cloud and on-premises computing environments. - Support reliable, secure pipelines for delivering data, software, and algorithms across integrated systems. - Visualize, analyze, trend, and report metrics for complex technical and program-level efforts. - Assist research and development involving data fusion, advanced analytics, automated workflows, and operational transition. - Analyze unstructured data using techniques such as entity identification, tagging, conceptual search, latent semantic indexing, and complex event processing. - Process and index large data collections and streaming sources, identify patterns and trends, and provide actionable conclusions from complex analysis.

Requirements

- Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. - The source describes an entry-level profile aligned with a bachelor’s degree and 0–2 years of experience, or an equivalent high-school-based experience range. - Strong interest in solving technical problems, with analytical, presentation, and communication skills. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively. - Experience with or understanding of cloud-based tools for data analysis.

Nice to have

- Degree in engineering, computer science, data science, imaging science, mathematics, physics, or another related technical discipline. - Interest or experience in programming, machine learning, algorithm analysis, clustering, data mining, statistics, predictive analytics, or performance analysis. - Experience with Python, R, MATLAB, C/C++, Fortran, Unix/Linux scripting, Excel, or comparable tools. - Familiarity with open-source text-processing tools, visual analytics, entity extraction, conceptual search, or high-performance distributed computing. - Exposure to software development using open-source enterprise technologies or Windows development stacks.
