About this role
Role overview Lead publicly funded quantum research projects from proposal through delivery while contributing directly to the scientific work. You’ll coordinate academic and industry partners, guide developers, and help turn research objectives into completed project outcomes. Between proposal deadlines, the role can also involve research, development, or customer-facing work.
Responsibilities - Manage funded projects across their lifecycle, including milestones, reporting, and deliverables. - Coordinate consortium partners from academia and industry and keep project work moving. - Contribute directly to quantum computing research and engage with scientific and engineering colleagues. - Guide developers so implementation supports the agreed project goals. - Develop funding proposals, from shaping project concepts to preparing budgets. - Publish and communicate findings through research or other professional channels.
Requirements - Strong quantum computing background demonstrated through research projects, a thesis, publications, or comparable work. - Experience leading funded research projects through multiple phases, including kickoff and final reporting. - Ability to work substantively on the science and collaborate with physicists, developers, and external partners. - Independent, constructive working style, including comfort asking questions and incorporating feedback. - Based in Germany; Munich is preferred, and remote work elsewhere in Germany is possible.
Nice to have - German at C1 level, as proposals and project meetings commonly use German.
