Forward Deployed AI Engineer

Role overview Build the integration and data foundations that let AI agents support healthcare billing across hospitals with different systems, coding conventions, and payer rules. You will work from technical discovery through deployment and ongoing operations, turning each complex implementation into reusable capabilities for future integrations. This is a hands-on engineering role with regular collaboration with hospital IT teams and vendors.

Responsibilities - Own electronic health record integrations, including APIs, schemas, undocumented behaviors, and vendor changes. - Create reusable tools for data extraction, normalization, versioning, replay, monitoring, and observability. - Design a shared data model that connects clinical records, reimbursement systems, coding standards, and local hospital conventions. - Build validated, reliable inputs for billing agents, including safeguards and evaluation systems for model-assisted decisions. - Lead technical discovery, implementation, debugging, and onboarding with hospital and vendor teams. - Manage the full lifecycle of changes, from design and deployment to monitoring, incident response, and iteration.

Requirements - At least three years building and operating production software; the available description emphasizes practical systems work. - Ability to work with APIs, data schemas, integrations, and operational failure cases. - Comfort working directly with external technical teams to investigate and resolve issues. - Willingness to own production systems through deployment, monitoring, and incident response. - Readiness to travel within the EU roughly monthly, including occasional on-site work to understand integrations.
