Role overview
Analyze data from deployed connected hardware to help improve its performance, reliability, and efficiency. You will investigate sensor and telemetry patterns, compare firmware behavior, and turn findings into practical recommendations for engineering, product, data science, and customer support teams. The role is remote and focuses on field data from commercial vehicle systems.
Responsibilities
- Build dashboards, reports, and presentations that explain hardware performance measures and trends. - Monitor incoming sensor data to find anomalies, emerging issues, and changes in field performance. - Apply statistical methods, machine learning, and time-series analysis to recommend reliability improvements. - Compare data from different firmware versions to assess changes and identify regressions. - Work with technical and product partners to plan analyses and develop dependable data pipelines. - Provide evidence-based support for customer questions and help teams use field data in future product decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, or a related field. - Two to four years of data analysis experience; exposure to hardware or connected devices is preferred. - Proficiency in Python, SQL, MATLAB, or spreadsheets for analysis and modeling. - Experience with data visualization tools and a solid grasp of statistical modeling, machine learning, and time-series data. - Ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with cloud data services or large-scale data ingestion and processing. - Familiarity with connected-device or hardware performance data.
Benefits and work setup
- Remote position with an indicated base salary range of $95,000–$123,000; compensation depends on factors including experience and location. - Additional compensation may include equity, bonuses, stipends, health and dental coverage, retirement savings, and disability insurance. - Candidates must have ongoing US work authorization without current or future employer sponsorship.
