Python Developer - Paraguay

Role overview A remote, part-time consulting role open to engineers based in or near Paraguay, structured as a series of paid project engagements with an AI lab. The work centers on scoped assignments such as feature implementation, migrations, debugging, and code review against real production codebases. It is well suited to experienced engineers who want flexible commitments, varied technical challenges, and the ability to manage their own workload.

Responsibilities - Investigate and resolve issues in complex, multi-file Python and JavaScript or TypeScript codebases - Implement new backend or full-stack functionality from written specifications - Refactor and migrate existing systems without regressing production behavior - Develop and extend unit and integration test coverage - Author clear technical documentation and reference implementations - Conduct code reviews that identify correctness, quality, and design improvements - Surface edge cases, ambiguities, and potential failure modes early in each project

Requirements - 2–7 years of professional software engineering experience - Strong Python proficiency and production-level experience with JavaScript or TypeScript - Working knowledge of at least one more language such as Java, C#, or Go - Background in backend or full-stack development on production systems - Experience with testing frameworks such as pytest, Jest, JUnit, xUnit, or Go testing - Comfort navigating, debugging, and reviewing large codebases - Advanced written English with strong attention to detail
