Python Developer (Ecuador)

Role overview A remote, part-time consulting engagement for experienced Python engineers based in or near Ecuador, delivered through a series of paid, individually scoped projects with an AI lab. The work spans real production codebases and covers debugging, feature development, refactoring, migrations, testing, and code review. Responsibilities - Debug and resolve issues across complex, multi-file codebases - Implement new backend or full-stack features from written specifications - Refactor and migrate existing production systems - Develop and maintain unit and integration test coverage - Produce clear technical documentation and reference implementations - Perform structured reviews for correctness, quality, and design - Identify edge cases, potential failure modes, and requirement ambiguities before delivery

Requirements - 2–7 years of professional software engineering experience - Strong proficiency in Python - Professional experience with JavaScript or TypeScript - Working knowledge of at least one additional language such as Java, C#, or Go - Backend or full-stack experience on production-grade systems - Hands-on experience with testing frameworks such as pytest, Jest, JUnit, xUnit, or Go testing - Comfort navigating and debugging large codebases and conducting code reviews - Advanced written English with strong attention to detail
