About this role
Role overview
This role focuses on designing and shipping on-chain financial mechanisms where incentives, trust assumptions, and adversarial behavior matter as much as the contract code itself. The work spans mechanisms such as lending, collateral, and reputation-based limits, together with the interfaces needed to operate them. A key part of the role is deciding how external information enters the system, how long it remains reliable, and how the design responds when participants try to manufacture value or exploit weak assumptions.
Responsibilities
- Build and improve Solidity-based mechanisms for lending, collateral, and reputation-gated limits. - Develop the supporting interfaces used to operate and understand those mechanisms. - Evaluate how off-chain values can be introduced through oracles, signed attestations, on-chain proofs, or comparable approaches. - Document the trust assumptions behind each data source and assess how values can become stale or manipulated. - Analyze whether a proposed mechanism is economically sound, while still delivering a practical implementation slice. - Consider how participants might borrow against fabricated or cheaply manufactured value and address those attack paths in the design.
Requirements
- Strong practical Solidity skills. - A well-developed understanding of DeFi risk and the ways financial mechanisms can be exploited. - Ability to reason about incentives, trust assumptions, stale information, and adversarial behavior. - Judgment to challenge a design when the underlying numbers do not support it. - Ability to turn that analysis into a working, shippable implementation.
