About this role
Role overview Set the direction and quality bar for a team producing recurring insights and custom analytics about subscription media markets. This senior leadership role combines editorial judgment, analytical rigor, client engagement, and operational design: deciding which findings merit publication, improving how work is delivered, and building a team and systems that can scale. The position reports to the chief executive and is remote-first.
Responsibilities - Define what makes an insight publishable and strengthen the analysis and storytelling standards across the team’s work. - Hire, develop, and retain a multidisciplinary group of analysts. - Shape internal tools by specifying the interfaces, data access, and capabilities the team needs, then partner with builders on delivery. - Manage requests from customers and internal commercial teams by setting priorities, allocating resources, and keeping work visible and timely. - Establish performance measures for the function and use them to improve workflows and direct effort. - Present findings to customers, respond to challenging questions, and build trust with senior stakeholders. - Work with company leadership to identify how custom analysis can support data products, while remaining ready to contribute directly to complex analysis and deliverables.
Requirements - At least ten years in analytics, insights, or research, including four or more years leading and growing teams. - Strong editorial judgment: able to distinguish the central finding from supporting facts and decide when evidence is not ready to share. - Experience presenting to senior external audiences and handling skepticism constructively. - Technical fluency in data structures, SQL-based analysis, reusable outputs, and the practical capabilities and limits of current AI tools. - Ability to create durable processes for ambiguous work and balance speed with analytical quality. - Strong communication and cross-functional partnership skills, including translating complex data for technical and nontechnical audiences. - Deep interest or experience in media and entertainment, and comfort in a fast-paced, feedback-driven setting.
Benefits and work setup - Remote-first work arrangement; applicants must already be authorized to work full-time in the United States, with no employment visa sponsorship available. - Annual total earnings are listed as $175,000–$200,000, with eligibility for company equity.
