Remote job
Product Manager, File and Remit
Job details
About this role
Role overview A tax automation platform is hiring a Product Manager to own the file-and-remit experience, the final step between a prepared return and money reaching a tax authority. The charter is two-sided: scale a largely automated filing engine that can handle every return in every jurisdiction, and open the platform to international businesses by supporting remittance from local bank accounts. The role partners closely with an internal TaxOps team, engineering, finance, and go-to-market leaders.
Responsibilities - Build a filing platform that scales to every return globally, with most filings fully automated and minimal human touch. - Center AI in the filing experience, with agents that write automations, catch issues before a period opens, and self-repair. - Enable international sellers to remit from their local bank accounts and in local currency. - Own money movement end-to-end, from collecting seller funds to delivering payments across tax authorities, currencies, banking partners, and jurisdictions. - Build internal tools that let the TaxOps team cover more jurisdictions with less manual effort. - Drive filing-quality metrics including cost per filing, on-time rate, and amendment rate. - Explore the next frontier for the filing engine, including the potential for it to become a standalone platform.
Requirements - Four or more years of product management experience, with at least two years building B2B products. - Background in payments, fintech, money movement, or high-volume operational systems. - Systems-thinking mindset oriented toward 100x scale rather than incremental change. - Comfort going deep technically with engineers building automation infrastructure. - High standards in workflows where a mistake costs a customer money. - Strong cross-functional collaboration with TaxOps, finance, sales, support, and leadership. - Clear, concise verbal and written communication. - A demonstrable experiment with AI to build an application, workflow, or creative solution to a real problem.
Benefits and work setup - Hybrid role based out of one of the company's office hubs, with San Francisco strongly preferred; in-office collaboration is expected three days per week in San Francisco, New York City, or Salt Lake City. - Equity offering alongside the product-market fit of a later-stage company. - Medical, dental, and vision insurance covered at 100%. - Daily lunch and snacks in office hubs, plus a One Medical membership. - Annual learning and development stipend for books, online courses, and conferences. - Home internet reimbursement, wellness reimbursement, and a home office setup stipend. - Annual team off-sites and in-person gatherings across hub locations.
