About this role
Role overview A Senior Salesforce Developer role on the Business Systems team of a defense technology organization, building the systems that support growth, business development, legal, investor relations, deployment operations, and adjacent functions that rely on Salesforce as their primary platform. The role designs scalable solutions on Salesforce Government Cloud Plus, partners closely with a Salesforce Product Manager, and integrates Salesforce with other internal platforms across the company.
Responsibilities - Design and customize Salesforce solutions aligned with business objectives, prioritizing scalable, maintainable architectures on Government Cloud Plus - Support CRM Analytics by configuring dashboards and managing data recipes - Automate business processes using Salesforce tools such as Flow, Process Builder, formulas, validation and assignment rules, approval processes, and email or Slack alerts - Build integrations between Salesforce and external systems using REST, SOAP APIs, OAuth, and SSO, and partner with internal integration teams on ERP and other platform connections - Develop and maintain technical documentation covering architecture, configurations, and customizations - Migrate changes from development and testing environments to production, perform smoke testing, and handle data updates using Data Loader - Provide end-user support while fostering self-sufficiency and adoption, and stay current on Salesforce releases, enhancements, and best practices
Requirements - 6–8 years of total IT experience with at least 5+ years of Salesforce platform development - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience - Strong Salesforce customization and configuration experience, preferably in Sales Cloud, with Government Cloud experience a plus - Hands-on development experience with Apex, triggers, scheduled and batch classes, Process Builder, Flow, approval processes, validation and assignment rules, and formulas - UI development experience with technologies such as Bootstrap, Lightning Design System, Lightning Components, jQuery, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS - Integration experience using REST and SOAP APIs, OAuth, and SSO - Experience with standard and custom object creation and relationships - Understanding of the software development lifecycle, DevOps tools such as JIRA, and CI/CD practices including GitHub Actions - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail - Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance
Nice to have - Salesforce Platform Developer I and Platform Developer II certifications - Aerospace and defense industry experience - NetSuite integrations experience and prior solution architect experience
