Role overview
Develop FPGA firmware for embedded communications and networking systems. You’ll work across RF, DSP, software, firmware, and test disciplines, taking signal-processing algorithms and system requirements through design, implementation, verification, integration, and ongoing support.
Responsibilities - Deliver embedded processing solutions with hardware and software partners. - Translate MATLAB or Simulink algorithms and requirements into FPGA architectures and firmware for FPGAs, SoCs, and SoMs. - Design, simulate, verify, and test HDL firmware, improving development workflows along the way. - Define interfaces between processors and FPGA-based message and data handling. - Support integration, troubleshooting, and sustainment of deployed systems.
Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience. - At least six years designing, implementing, and verifying FPGA systems in VHDL or Verilog. - Experience taking embedded firmware or software from concept through production, including using code generation to implement MATLAB or Simulink algorithms. - Proficiency in C and C++, with experience using a real-time operating system. - Familiarity with MCU, CPU, and FPGA technologies; interfaces such as Ethernet, I2C, SPI, PCIe, or USB; and embedded software architectures. - Ability to test hardware using common electrical engineering instruments and to work with printed circuit board assemblies. - Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Nice to have
Experience with wireless communications, computer networking, secure design, or complex communications boards; familiarity with high-reliability aerospace or aircraft systems, including redundancy; or knowledge of DO-254, DO-178C, DO-160, DO-311A, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, or MIL-STD-461.
Benefits and work setup
The position is described as remote. The listed U.S. base salary range is $166,000–$220,000; full-time compensation may also include equity and benefits.
