Role overview

Join a ten-week paid summer internship designed for undergraduate computer science students interested in software development, cybersecurity, cloud technology, or data-oriented work. Interns receive mentoring, professional development, and practical project experience while collaborating remotely with a team based near Huntsville, Alabama; occasional in-person collaboration may be possible.

Responsibilities

- Explore cybersecurity techniques supporting both offensive and defensive missions. - Help design, build, test, and debug custom software applications. - Develop technology demonstrations using commercial cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud. - Assess potential application ideas and research competing solutions. - Work as part of a project team to develop an application or prototype. - Present the completed prototype and project outcomes to organizational leadership.

Requirements

- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance; sponsorship may be available for successful candidates. - Current computer science major with an expected graduation date of May 2028. - Minimum 3.0 GPA, strong analytical and mathematical ability, and demonstrated academic commitment. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to work collaboratively while remaining self-managed, goal-oriented, thoughtful, and dependable.

Nice to have

- Experience with a group programming project or personal software projects. - Familiarity with Agile methods, especially Scrum. - Working knowledge of Java, Python, Node.js, front-end or back-end development, Git, or cloud platforms.
