Staff Platform Engineer, Cloud Developer Experience

Role overview Lead the systems and practices that take software from code changes through production for a large, globally distributed engineering organization. This hands-on staff role combines platform engineering, production operations, and cross-team technical leadership, with a focus on making delivery reliable, fast, observable, and easy for product teams to use.

Responsibilities - Set the direction for CI/CD architecture and improve the developer-facing delivery experience. - Own the end-to-end path from code merge to production, improving pipeline speed, reliability, and predictability. - Create supported delivery paths that help product teams deploy safely without needing deep platform expertise. - Advance progressive delivery, including canary releases and automated rollbacks. - Build self-service tools and evolve the internal developer portal so deployments are repeatable and observable. - Work with cloud platform colleagues on infrastructure and embed AI tools in delivery workflows to improve engineering productivity.

Requirements - Significant experience in platform engineering or developer experience, especially CI/CD and software delivery; experience in a larger engineering organization is useful. - Experience owning a CI/CD platform, including its architecture, administration, security, configuration, and enablement. - A record of designing and operating delivery systems at scale. - Hands-on software development experience, including production-quality Go. - Familiarity with cloud-native systems and Kubernetes, and interest in canary deployments and automated rollbacks. - Strong collaboration and influence skills across teams and time zones, along with an interest in using AI tools in engineering work.

Nice to have - Experience building or maintaining an internal developer platform. - Experience in both software and platform engineering teams. - Familiarity with security concepts such as role-based access control and OAuth.
