About this role
Role overview Set the technical direction for platforms that make enterprise data governance operational, measurable, and auditable. The role spans metadata management, master data, data quality, and lineage, connecting governance strategy with data engineering and enterprise architecture. As an individual contributor, you will own platform design and implementation and help embed governance controls into the systems and workflows that create and move data.
Responsibilities - Define architecture for governance capabilities such as metadata management, master data management, data quality, and lineage, aligned with enterprise and cloud standards. - Lead platform implementation from configuration and integration through testing and launch, with production expectations for availability, performance, and data integrity. - Work with data engineering to build governance controls into data pipelines and processing workflows. - Automate governance tasks such as quality-rule execution, metadata collection, lineage capture, and master-data matching. - Provide visibility into data flows and transformations to support impact analysis, audits, and investigation of data issues. - Establish technical standards and architecture documentation, and coordinate with engineering, infrastructure, and architecture partners.
Requirements - Experience designing and implementing enterprise data governance platforms and related capabilities. - Ability to architect solutions in enterprise cloud environments and account for security, access management, and data classification. - Proficiency in SQL for validation, quality rules, and governance investigations. - Experience integrating governance technology with data platforms, pipelines, and broader enterprise systems. - Ability to document architecture clearly and explain technical decisions to both engineering and governance audiences. - Strong cross-functional collaboration skills; the position leads through technical ownership and does not have direct reports.
Nice to have Relevant credentials may include Azure data engineering, professional data management, or certifications in governance platform products such as Reltio, Informatica, Profisee, or Acceldata.
Benefits and work setup The listed pay range is $149,882–$224,823. Pay may vary based on factors such as market location, education, experience, and responsibilities.
