Job details
About this role
Role overview
Own the transformation layer that turns financial and operational data from many customer systems into reliable, analytics-ready models for financial planning and analysis. You will work across source integration, data modeling, quality assurance, performance optimization, and production delivery. The role combines hands-on analytics engineering with architectural influence, cross-functional partnership, and mentoring in a remote-first team serving the Americas.
Responsibilities
- Design and improve scalable client-facing transformation workflows as integrations and customer volume grow. - Decide where automation and AI-assisted methods can accelerate, improve, and document transformation work. - Build data-integrity tests with engineering and customer-facing partners so defects are identified before reaching users. - Investigate reporting and data issues, then develop durable transformations across finance, workforce, sales, customer, and other operational sources. - Refactor and optimize important models and pipelines, establishing patterns and conventions for the wider team. - Raise engineering quality through code reviews, documentation, process improvements, developer-experience work, coaching, hiring, and onboarding.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end transformation pipelines, from source integration through production-ready analytical models. - Strong SQL and experience with dbt or a comparable transformation framework. - Practical understanding of version control, automated testing, deployment, and the path from raw source data to consumption. - Ability to make sound architectural decisions, establish standards, and operate effectively amid ambiguity. - Care for data integrity, maintainability, performance, and clear documentation at scale. - Clear, persuasive communication with both technical and non-technical partners, plus the ability to help develop other team members.
Nice to have
- Experience working with financial data or FP&A-related reporting. - Familiarity with Python, BigQuery, Airbyte, Fivetran, Merge, Datadog, Git, and CI/CD workflows for dbt. - Experience integrating ERP, HRIS, CRM, billing, payroll, headcount, or sales systems. - A record of coaching teammates and contributing to hiring or onboarding.
Benefits and work setup
- Remote-first position for candidates located in the United States, Canada, or Latin America, with working-hour alignment across the Americas.
