Senior Software Engineer I - Data & Algorithm Engineering

Role overview Join a Patient Domain engineering team that turns complex healthcare data into well-defined insights about who patients are and how they move through the care system. The work centers on maintaining, improving, and expanding data models and Databricks pipelines while partnering with practices to ensure patients receive appropriate care.

Responsibilities - Develop and implement scalable, performant solutions across data models and pipeline infrastructure. - Partner as a peer with engineering managers, product managers, and other stakeholders to develop and execute technical roadmaps using Agile processes. - Mentor and coach more junior engineers, including thorough pull-request reviews, while remaining receptive to critical feedback on your own work. - Support the team in monitoring and observing models in production to ensure they are driving measurable impact.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - Three or more years of experience working with SQL or another database querying language on large multi-table data sets. - Four or more years of experience as an engineer building backend applications as part of a cross-functional team. - Two or more years of experience acting as a trusted technical decision-maker in a team setting, balancing short-term and long-term business value. - Two or more years of experience coaching other engineers.

Nice to have - Two or more years of dedicated data engineering experience with Databricks and modern data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift. - Three or more years working in backend languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js. - Experience designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines and ETL processes. - Proficiency with large datasets and data storage technologies, including performance monitoring and optimization. - Familiarity with Kafka or similar streaming stacks, database replication and sharding, Docker and Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines. - Experience working with sensitive data and security-conscious systems.
